Waste Electrical & Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Regulations

The amount of WEEE we throw away is quickly increasing by each year, making it the fastest growing waste stream in the UK. This is problematic because much of the UK's WEEE ends up in landfill, which can have a harmful effect on natural habitat, wildlife and also human health and electrical items that are thrown away can often be repaired or recycled. Recycling items helps to save our natural finite resources and also reduces the environmental and health risks associated with sending electrical goods to landfill. As an environmentally conscious supplier of refurbished computers, this is of the highest priority for us here at Re-Macs

ReMacs is a producer of Electrical and Electronic Equipment (EEE) and is therefore obligated under the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Regulations. The UK WEEE Regulations were introduced in 2007 with the aim of reducing the amount of WEEE ending up in landfill. Following the requirements of the Regulations, Re-Macs finance the recovery and recycling of WEEE when it reaches the end of its life and ensure our products are marked accordingly with a crossed out wheeled bin symbol and a date mark. We also provide information on reuse and environmentally sound treatment of the products.

We are fully compliant with all responsibilities as a registered member of UK government approved WEEE Compliance Scheme, Comply Direct. Our WEEE producer registration number is WEE/, Batteries: BPRN.

We have formally documented policies relating to the WEEE Regulations and we review our processes on a formalised and regular basis to ensure we remain fully compliant.
